How You Can Help (Español abajo)

There are many ways to help defend nature and human rights in Ecuador.

• Help us go viral! Follow this blog and our social media to stay up to date with developments. Share updates with your own networks. 

• Spread the word! Talk about what is happening at every opportunity.

• Reduce your consumption of oil products.

• Visit the Amazon to see for yourself what is happening. The Sarayaku people are at the forefront of the fight to keep oil companies out of the Amazon and have an eco-lodge in their community. Learn about their way of life and support them with eco-tourism.

• Reach out to organisations at the front line of the struggle. Choose one you like and fundraise for them or ask what other kind of support they need.

• Get creative! If you can draw, write, sing, rap or make videos and have been inspired by the struggle to defend nature and human rights in Ecuador, why not create something and send it to us? If we like it, we’ll publish and promote it!

• As drilling draws nearer in Yasuní  and the southern Amazon, opportunities for peaceful protest and action may arise. If you would like to be kept informed of these, sign up for updates here.

Cómo Puede Ayudar

Hay muchas maneras de ayudar a defender la naturaleza y los derechos humanos en Ecuador.

• Ayúdanos a ser virales! Sigue este blog y nuestros medios sociales para estar al día con los desarrollos. Compartir actualizaciones con tus propias redes.

• Corre la voz! Habla acerca de lo que está sucediendo cuando tengas oportunidad de hacerlo.

• Reduce tu consumo de productos derivados del petróleo.

• Visita la Amazonía para ver por tí mismo lo que está sucediendo. El pueblo de Sarayaku está a la vanguardia de la lucha para detener la invasión de las empresas petroleras y tienen un eco-lodge en su comunidad. Aprende acerca de su forma de vida y apóyalos con el ecoturismo.

• Acercarse a las organizaciones que están en la primera línea de la lucha. Elige una que te guste y recauda fondos para ellos o pregunta qué otro tipo de apoyo necesitan.

• Sé creativo! Si puedes dibujar, escribir, cantar, rapear o hacer videos y estás inspirado en la lucha para defender la naturaleza y los derechos humanos en Ecuador, ¿por qué no crear algo y enviarnoslo a nosotros? Si nos gusta, vamos a publicar y promoverlo!
